Jasper Lindqvist has just signed with the Bucharest Titans, bringing his talents as a center to the offensive line. Although he hasn’t yet arrived in Romania, Jasper is already looking forward to making an impact on the field and becoming an integral part of the team. In this exclusive interview, we get to know more about his journey, his expectations, and how he plans to contribute to the Titans’ success this season.

Introduction

1. How excited are you to begin this new chapter in your career with the Titans?
I am super excited to join the Titans. I’ve never been to Romania, so it’s thrilling to move and explore a new place.

2. What attracted you to play American football in Romania, and what are your expectations as you join the team?
I have to admit, it was Silviu and Nick Ladd who attracted me to play for the Titans, along with the opportunity to live and play in Bucharest.

Role and Experience

3. As a center, you play a crucial role in the offensive line. How do you approach your responsibilities on the field?
I approach my responsibilities on the field with a few key focuses. First, I will learn the entire playbook so I can guide my offensive line if needed. Second, as a center, I need to be in top physical condition, so I make sure to keep both my mind and body in shape. Third, it’s important to know your offensive line well, so I’m committed to building strong chemistry with the entire OL.

4. Can you tell us about your experience playing as a center? What key skills have you developed that you think will benefit your new team?
I’ve been playing as a center for a few years. I started in that position, then played as a guard and tackle for a while, and now, for the 2024 season, I’ve moved back to center with my home team, the Helsinki Wolverines. The key skill for my position is leadership. With this skill, I can lead the line effectively, especially with Nick Ladd’s support.

5. The center is often the leader of the offensive line. How do you see yourself contributing to the team’s success in this leadership role?
I see myself leading by example, ensuring that everyone on the line is on the same page, and maintaining clear communication and strong teamwork.
Adjusting to a New Environment

6. Moving to a new country can be both exciting and challenging. How are you preparing for life in Romania, both on and off the field?
Romania will be my fourth time as an import player, and while I don’t have a set routine for moving to new countries, I’m doing my research on Romanian culture. Once I arrive, I’ll ask my teammates to show me around, especially the hidden gems that tourists might miss.

7. What are some of the biggest adjustments you anticipate making, whether it’s in your playing style or in adapting to the local culture?
The biggest adjustments will likely be getting to know the local culture and trying to live like a true Titan while adapting to the new environment.
Team Dynamics

8. How do you plan to build chemistry with your new teammates, particularly the quarterback and the rest of the offensive line?
I’m already familiar with OL member Nick from Camioneros de Coslada, but I haven’t met the others yet. I’m looking forward to meeting them, and I plan to build chemistry by spending time together and getting to know each other better.

9. What are your goals for this season, both individually and for the team as a whole?
Individually, I hope to continue improving as a player. For the team, my goal is to help the Titans win their first championship in a few years!
Looking Ahead

10. What do you hope to achieve during your time in Romania, both as a player and as an ambassador of American football?
As a player, I hope to become a better football player. As an ambassador, I aim to attract many new fans and players to follow and play football in Europe, especially with the Titans.
